Join me in exploring the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and Grand Island's sandy beaches. Stay 4 nights "glamping" in a YURT August 6-10, 2024, arriving Wednesday and separating Sunday. Disconnect from technology and focus on mindfulness, self-care, while deepening old friendships, meet new friends seeking like-minded connections, expand your yoga practice, relax and nourish your soul. Though generally classified as a tent, yurts are much stronger and weather tight. Staying in two Upper Peninsula yurts, that feature a circular structure surrounded by a durable fabric cover, a wood frame that includes a lattice wall, and a framed lockable door.
Our yurts near Pictured Rocks features electricity and lighting inside, Wi-Fi access, mini fridge, charcoal grill, picnic table, and fire ring at each individual site. This is "glamping" with each yurt housed with a bunkbed with a double bed on bottom and a single bed on top and a futon that pulls out into another double bed (sleeps 5 total). A bathroom is available in each Yurt.
Paddler’s Village is located on Lake Superior at the western gateway to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and Grand Island in the Hiawatha National Forest. Munising, Michigan is only 2 miles east of the village and has several gift shops, restaurants, and adventure companies.
The outdoor yurt, paddling and yoga retreat includes canoeing, hiking, all day (8 hours) kayaking guided tour and lunch boat tour (3 hours and lunch provided) of the coast along with a host of other fresh-air activities. Lodging in the yurt for 4 nights, most meals and snacks, yoga and workshop activities are included.
